It’s hard to believe that it’s been a year since St. George’s Nursery acquired Educare in Sherwood, Nottingham and Mighty Oaks in Meridian Business Park, Leicester.
St. George’s Nursery has used its 30 years of experience in the childcare industry to ensure we provide the best possible environment for the children in our care.
Over the past 12 months, we’ve been working tirelessly to implement changes and improvements, and we are excited to share some of these with you:
Enhanced Curriculum:
One of our top priorities has been to enhance the educational experience for the children in our nurseries. We’ve updated our curriculum to incorporate the latest early childhood education research and practices, ensuring our little learners receive the best possible foundation for their future.
Dedicated and Trained Staff:
Our team is the heart of our nurseries, and we’ve invested in recruiting new, qualified and experienced staff and providing ongoing training and development for all staff. By providing opportunities for professional growth, we’ve cultivated a team of dedicated educators passionate about nurturing and teaching your children.
New Management:
We have welcomed new management teams to both nurseries who have extensive experience working in nursery management roles.
"Fantastic nursery!!! The changes and improvements since St. George's Nursery took over have been wonderful. The nursery looks so much better now and the management changes have been a huge improvement. Thank you St. George's Nursery!"

Shared Resources:
Our nurseries benefit from sharing resources, expertise, and management. This reduces the administrative burden on staff, allowing our excellent team to focus on what they do best: caring for children.
Health & Safety:
The safety and well-being of our children & staff are paramount. In response, we’ve significantly improved our safety protocols and hygiene standards to ensure a secure and healthy environment.
These include improved radiator & socket covers, installation of finger guards, air conditioning, hot water system & much more.
Nutritious Menus:
We have introduced healthier menus to ensure the children are receiving nourishing meals every day, cooked on-site by our nursery chef.
“Really appreciate that you are an all inclusive environment and vegan is provided for. It was lovely of Claire to bake some vegan cakes for our daughter for the bake sale.” Parent at St. George’s Meridian
Improved communication and parental partnerships:
Parental involvement is vital to your child’s education, learning and development. A positive partnership can only be achieved through regular contact, and we take every opportunity to achieve this. We introduced a new app for parents, Famly, which allows parents to receive notifications about their child’s daily activities, nursery meals, and more. Parents can also add information on the app and view photos of activities during the day. We also introduced parent’s evenings, stay & play sessions, and newsletters.
One of our parents at St. George’s Meridian highlighted the most significant changes being “the better communication with the family/carers and the app that allows us to track the child throughout the day.
Another parent remarked how great it is to see what your child is doing during the day via the app and that the recent grandparent’s day was a great way to see the nursery and the setup the children play in every day.
Outdoor Learning:
We’ve enhanced our outdoor play areas to offer an improved space for children to explore, learn, and have fun while enjoying the fresh air. We now take every opportunity to take our learning outdoors and to teach our children to respect and understand the world around us.
