Centre for Early Mathematics Learning

We are proud partners of the Centre for Early Mathematics Learning (CEML), a pioneering research centre which focuses on children’s early mathematical learning. We are collaborating with CEML to research mathematics development in the early years and to translate this research into practice.

Our Other Childcare Awards

Leicester’s ‘Eat Better To Start Better’ Programme

Supports early years providers across Leicester to help children and their families meet their nutritional needs both whilst being cared for within their early years setting and also at home within their family. The programme supports early years settings to develop a healthy food policy and achieve “The Good Nutrition for the under 5’s award.”

‘Healthy Teeth, Happy Smiles Early Years’ Accreditation Scheme

Created to assist nurseries in establishing an environment that helps children and young people to have good oral and general health. To achieve this accreditation, we encourage healthy eating and drinking, encourage regular teeth brushing and encourage the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, including regular visits to the dentist.

‘Healthy Tots’ Accreditation

We are currently working towards our ‘Healthy Tots’ accreditation at Enderby, in order to further establish a ‘healthy culture’ within our setting empowering staff, children and parents with a view to improve health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities.

NDNA’s Math’s Champion programme

We are currently participating in the NDNA’s Math’s Champion programme to further support children’s early mathematical development. In each nursery, a ‘Maths Champion’ is selected: a senior member of staff, who is supported to drive improvement in maths practice across the setting.
