Celebrating 30 Years of Childcare Excellence at St. George’s Nursery

Celebrating 30 Years of Childcare Excellence at St. George’s Nursery

As we celebrate three decades of providing exceptional childcare, we reflect on our journey from humble beginnings to becoming a trusted name in early childhood education across the Midlands. Established in 1994 in the heart of Leicester, our journey has been one of growth, innovation, and unwavering commitment to nurturing young minds whilst remaining family-run.

From Small Beginnings to Great Heights

In 1994, with a vision to provide excellent childcare, we opened our first nursery doors, welcoming just a few children into our care. The response from the community was overwhelming, highlighting the significant need for quality childcare services. Driven by our dedication to meeting this demand, we embarked on a journey of expansion, establishing six nurseries across the Midlands. Today, we proudly look after many children, each one a cherished member of our St. George’s family.

Continuous Improvement

Over the years, we’ve made countless improvements to our nurseries, ensuring every child receives the best possible care and educational experience. Some examples of these enhancements include:

State-of-the-Art Facilities:

We’ve invested in upgrading our facilities to create stimulating and engaging environments conducive to learning and exploration. From modern play areas to cosy reading corners, our nurseries are designed to inspire creativity and curiosity.

Professional Development

We recognise the importance of ongoing training and development and have prioritised the professional growth of our staff. Through continuous training and workshops, our team stays abreast of the latest trends and best practices in early childhood education.

Enhanced Curriculum

Our curriculum has evolved to encompass a holistic approach to child development, including lots of outdoor learning and mindfulness practices. We incorporate elements of different theories, such as Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, The Reggio Emilia Approach, Attachment Theory & more. By integrating these theories into our practices, we strive to create a dynamic and enriching learning environment that empowers each child to thrive and reach their full potential.

Parental Engagement Initiatives

We’ve strengthened and will continue to improve our partnership with parents through regular communication channels, parent workshops, and family events. By fostering a collaborative relationship with families, we ensure that each child receives consistent support both at home and in the nursery.

Technology

Advancements in technology have revolutionised the way we approach childcare and education. St. George’s Nursery has embraced technology to enhance communication with parents. We use a parent app that enhances parent partnerships through daily updates, instant messaging, and automatic reminders. This intuitive app allows parents to keep in regular contact with the nursery and receive up to date information about their child’s progress and daily activities.

We spoke with some of our dedicated staff members, and our wonderful parents, both current and of those whose children have attended over the years. Here’s what they had to say about their time at St. George’s and the changes they’ve witnessed:

"Happy 30th birthday, St. George's Nursery! It's been an absolute honour to be part of such a wonderfully nurturing and inspiring team, who continually strive towards delivering Outstanding practice every day for the children and their families in our care. Here's to many more years of joy and growth!"

Congratulations on 30 years of making a positive difference in children's lives! Cheers to many more years of success and happy memories!"

"Our twin daughters, Mia & Ava, attended St. George's Nursery from the age of 1, and they really flourished during their time there. They would always be excited to go to nursery, and I still look back fondly on our trips home when they enjoyed telling us about everything that they'd been up to with their friends during fun-filled and action packed days! They loved all the staff at the nursery, and would talk about them all the time which was lovely. As well as being very happy there, attending St. George's really helped the girls in their development, set them up brilliantly for when they started school, and we will always be grateful for the role the nursery played in such important years of Mia & Ava's lives."

"We couldn't be happier with our decision to send both of our children to St. George's Nursery over 20 years ago. From the moment we stepped foot into St. George's Nursery, we knew it was a special place. Their time there was filled with growth, laughter, and wonderful memories. As St. George's Nursery celebrates its remarkable 30th anniversary, we want to extend our warmest congratulations to the entire team. We will forever cherish the memories and invaluable experiences our family shared at St. George's Nursery. Our deepest gratitude goes out to everyone who made our journey with St. George's Nursery such a remarkable one."
